Neopoetik
Artistic Impulses for Co-creative Intentions
NeopoetiK – Artistic Impulses for co-creative Intentions.
The online gallery presents artistic works that may be integrated as poetic complements within non-commercial contexts.
The collection comprises audiovisual miniatures, photographic works, and filmic forms understood as poetic impulses: open to multiple readings, and relatable to texts, discourse, research processes, exhibitions, or other situations of shared attention.
As an opening to a conference, a visual anchor embedded in academic text, or an entrée to a focussed assembly like a retreat, art can provide an impulse and reference for exchange and understanding. In this sense, this project aims to reintegrate art into social and disciplinary spaces.
The project is grounded in the belief that artistic forms have always participated in the production of knowledge. Images accompany arguments, shift perspectives, condense experience, and open up spaces for ambiguity, resonance, and new forms of connection.
The works in the gallery are therefore explicitly intended for contexts in which exchange, reflection, or insight may emerge — such as research, cultural practice, or interdisciplinary encounters. They may function as an opening, a moment of disruption, a connective element, or a subtle shift within an existing line of thought.
Many of the works originated from re-reading existing material. The focus was not on conveying narrative content, but on using the audiovisual material to stimulate thought processes and evoke associations.
The works on offer are not intended to be further edited or modified, but to retain their autonomy while coexisting with other forms of expression.
All works are carefully annotated and include information about their origin, form, and artistic intention. In addition, poetic readings and associative notes suggest possible connections without fixing interpretation.
Any use is subject to context-specific licences. Neopoetics is explicitly intended for non-commercial use. Use in discriminatory, misanthropic or disrespectful contexts is not permitted.
The gallery is designed as a growing collection and is open to contributions. We are equally interested in the trajectories the works take: information about the contexts in which they are used, feedback, and new connections are welcome.
GALLERY
The gallery provides access to all artworks in the collection. Every work is carefully annotated. The Gallery may be filtered by theme, format, or keyword. Some works are part of series; these can also be used as a sorting criterion.
Further contextual information is provided:
factual description of content

Information about the authors of the works is also provided, as well as links to the original projects that generated the audio-visual material for many of the works.
TERMS OF USE & RIGHTS
The works are made available under defined licences for context-specific use. They are not offered for direct sale, but licensed for knowledge-oriented, cultural, or social applications in non-commercial contexts.
Depending on scope and duration of use, either a basic or extended licence applies. For decision-making and design purposes, a layout licence provides a marked trial versions of the works free of charge.
The exact conditions for using the works are set out in the guidelines.
Any use in a discriminatory, derogatory or misanthropic context is strictly prohibited.
PARTICIPATION
Neopoetik is intended as a growing collection. Artistic works that align with the approach described may be submitted and, subject to agreement, included in the catalogue.
We are also interested in how the works are used: feedback on the contexts in which they have been employed is expressly welcome.
We also welcome suggestions, recommendations and any form of feedback that helps to expand or refine the collection.
AUTHORS
The works featured in Neopoetik were created by artists, filmmakers and media writers who explore poetic forms of audiovisual language. Information about their backgrounds and artistic practices is available by clicking on the name of the respective person.
PRODUCTION
Neopoetik is curated and produced by KOMBINAT Tanz und Film.
The artist collective combines choreographic and media-artistic practices within a transdisciplinary approach. They regularly involve artists and people from different generations and backgrounds in their artistic practice.
This results in stage productions, site-specific installations and film formats. Documentary empathy and sympathetic humour are typical for the works as they paint a picture of societies and their negotiations of coexistence. Often, the narrative relies on body language and the power of imagery, omitting text-based storytelling.
