A shopping mall is the dance floor for all members of society. Any character may pass by, wiggle their trolley in any manner. Some demand more space than others. Some show extended courtesy. And then there are the oblivious gnats.
Objective description
An empty tram stop shelter. In stop-motion style, shopping carts enter the frame and find their place in the stack inside the shelter. The film features a wide variety of very different shopping carts, each showing its individual personality through musical sound.
Plausible association
The film invites contemplation of daily routines—the individuality that infuses them, the loneliness involved, and the tediousness they carry. It brings the trolley out into the open, suggesting common aspects within the individual designs of lives lived.
Artistic intention
Much is overlooked in modern urban life. Anything considered a utility is overlooked—things that merely help. This film allows these objects to emerge and wait patiently for a tram to take them.
