High noon. A Harley bikers’ chapter has halted at the edge of a field. Their machines are lined up, the handlebars all set at the very same angle. Still sitting in the saddle, they are all fast asleep. Like in a fairy tale.
Objective description
Sommer, flirrende Hitze am Feldrand. Mehrere Biker haben ihre Harleys aufgereiht und halten ein Schläfchen. Eine Reiterin kommt vorbei.
Plausible association
Whenever living beings allow themselves to fall asleep, they decide to feel safe. Here, they feel among friends. They lower their guard, let go of performance, and drift into sleep.
Artistic intention
Update of the fairy tale where a whole country falls asleep, wherever they are. But there is more to depicting people in their sleep: the people stop performing. Pause is the antidote to action.
